Gibson Les Paul Studio: This was the most used guitar on the A PLACE FOR ME album. It is everything from the guitar solo in I WILL to the background arpeggios in FATHER OF THE FIELDS. It’s a beastly guitar with a mahogany neck, rosewood fingerboard, and a mahogany body.
Frankenstein: The main guitar in APPOINTED TIME was tracked using what Andy Bell calls his “Frankenstein guitar.” It’s a black Squire Stratocaster body with a maple 1970s-style replacement Fender Stratocaster neck and Fender Stratocaster Custom Shop Fat ’50s Pickups installed.
Shecter C-1 Classic: This was used for the wah guitar track & solo for WHEVER I AM as well as the rhythmic guitar in I WILL and the distorted guitar in FOR THE SAKE OF SUNDAY MORNING. It is neck-thru body construction with a maple neck and rosewood fingerboard. The body is mahogany with a quilted maple top utilizing Seymour Duncan humbucker pickups [JB at bridge, SH-2N Jazz pickup at neck].
Fender Special Edition Custom Telecaster FMT HH: This guitar was used on GOODNESS & MERCY for the rhythm guitar track during the verses. It has a flamed-maple top with a mahogany body and neck, a rosewood fingerboard, and dual Fender humbucker pickups.
Fender Strat Delux 1995: This guitar was a last-minute addition. It was used to track the main guitar part on YOU’LL BE ALRIGHT. It has an alder body, maple neck, and Fender Samarium Cobalt Noiseless pickups.
Breedlove Atlas Series AC25/SR Classic Acoustic-Electric: This guitar was used every place on the album where there is acoustic guitar. It has a solid sitka spruce top with solid rosewood back & laminate sides.
Bass
Brian Moore i5: This bass was recorded on every track. It’s a neck-thru 5-string bass with maple/padouk/maple neck, rosewood fingerboard, ash body sides, and active soapbar pickups.

Kontact 2 with M-Audio Keyboard Controller: Kontact 2 has a plethora of sounds and was the main interface used for the Keyboard and Synthesizer parts heard throughout the A PLACE FOR ME album.
Korg M1 Wavestation: This keyboard synthesizer was used by Don Pope on the song A Place for Me.

Pearl Custom Kit with Zildjian Cymbals: This is a four piece kit tracked on Suddenly, Wherever I am, Look at Me Now, Sunday Morning, and A Place for Me.
Allegra Custom-Made Drums with Zildjian Cymbals: This is a six piece kit recorded for You’ll be Alright, Goodness & Mercy, Appointed Time, Father of the Fields, I Will, Down by the Sea, and Imaginary Love.
